Staff and students can get free bike check-ups at a road safety event on Wednesday, 26 September from 9am until 3.30pm outside University Place
Cyclists are being invited to turn up on the day for the free bike marking. A gold standard D lock will also be on offer for £15 to University students and staff to reduce the number of bikes stolen on campus.
The Sharing the Road Safely event is being organised by the Directorate of Estates and Facilities’ health and safety team.
Transport for Greater Manchester cycle instructors will be available to give training around cycling around HGVs, and there will be a lorry to sit in to experience the driver view of the road.
A driving simulator van will also be on campus along with an example of a car wreckage with storyboard hosted by Greater Manchester Police.
