Wellbeing Champions – helping to bring wellbeing to everyone
19 Sep 2018
Wellbeing Champions help spread awareness of wellbeing and our six ways, as well as the wide range of wellbeing opportunities here at the University
Earlier this year we launched our network of Wellbeing Champions.
So far Wellbeing Champions have been involved with training staff and managers, promotional campaigns and charity activities. Champion-led activities have included foodbank collections, clothes swaps, running local wellbeing focus groups, getting wellbeing on team meeting agendas and new staff inductions, and arranging walking groups.
Sarah March from Human Resources, who leads staff wellbeing, said: "The Wellbeing Champions network plays a vital role in getting wellbeing messages and activities out to all of our staff. I’d like to thank those champions that have already volunteered and begun to lead activities in their teams – there will be much more to come in the next few months and we welcome new members to the champions team.
"You can give what time you have – we just want to encourage people who are interested in wellbeing to get involved and help us spread the messages."
During the next few months Wellbeing Champions will be supporting our forthcoming staff fair, our menopause event, writing for our wellbeing blog, helping to deliver training – as well as organising more of their own activities.
