Oxford Road is getting busier by the day as we approach one of the most intensive periods on the academic calendar: start of year.
As part of our Student Lifecycle Project, colleagues from Schools, Faculties and central teams have collaborated to redesign the processes that underpin start of year to make this period better for students and simpler for staff. The improvements include:
- Introducing an area of the new My Manchester for students to download, print, or ‘click and collect’ confirmation documents, rather than queuing at a registration venue to pick them up in person
- Making financial registration much more user friendly by introducing an area of the new My Manchester called ‘My Financials’, where students can make payments for tuition and accommodation fees, set up direct debits, update their bank details and manage payments to or from the University
- Reducing the number of steps involved with academic registration, opening it up to applicants who have fulfilled their offer conditions, and only requiring students to complete it once per programme rather than once per year
More of the changes and information about the project can be found on the SLP website, as well as an opportunity to feedback comments for response in the SLP newsletter.
