Help support our public engagement activities by completing a survey

Contribute to our watermark application for public engagement and help us achieve an Engage Watermark gold award

Community Festival at the University of Manchester

The University has applied for an Engage Watermark, an action identified in our Share, Inspire, Involve public engagement strategy. It is an award granted by the National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) to higher education institutions to recognise and reward their strategic support for public engagement and their commitment to improve the support offered.

There are four levels of award, each relating to a different stage that an institution has reached in its support for public engagement. The Watermark lasts for three years, after which institutions can apply again.

The Watermark process involves a survey of staff, students and partners. We would appreciate as many staff as possible taking 20 minutes to complete the survey to share how well you think the University supports public engagement.

Professor Sheena Cruickshank, Academic Lead for Public Engagement, explains more: “We need to hear from staff about what they think about public engagement at the University as part of achieving a Watermark from the NCCPE. It’s important that we hear from as many people as possible to get a balanced picture of our public engagement work so that we can continue to improve, support and develop excellent engagement work.”
