Biology, Medicine and Health Town Hall Meetings

Faculty wide meetings keep staff in touch with strategic issues - action from 2017 Staff Survey
The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health (BMH) has introduced Town Hall meetings as one of a number of engagement activities taking place to address feedback from the Staff Survey 2017.
The meetings, hosted by the Dean, take place each semester and are open to all staff within the Faculty. They provide a forum for the Faculty Leadership Team to keep colleagues across BMH up to date with strategic activities and issues affecting the Faculty, and encourage staff to feed share their views and ask questions.
At the first of two meetings held this year, Vice Deans introduced the Faculty’s strategies relating to Teaching and Learning, Research and Social Responsibility. This was followed by a second meeting where the Heads of Schools and the Heads of School Operations each outlined their key priorities for the next academic year.
Response to the meetings has been positive with attendance from PSS, academic and research staff who have actively participated in the open Q&A sessions held at the end of each meeting. For those unable to attend, podcasts and presentations are made available after each event.
The next series of Town Hall meetings are scheduled for October, February and June and will be promoted through the Faculty’s newsletter.
