Engineering student recognised for outstanding talent

A student from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering has been recognised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology

Nicolo Frisiani, an engineering student from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering has been recognised for their hard work by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

The IET Prize is awarded annually to outstanding students who are completing a course of study which has been accredited by the IET. Prize winners are nominated by their university based on having shown distinction in their course leading to the award of a first degree.

As part of his win Nicolo will receive a certificate and two years free membership of the IET.

On winning the award Nicolo said: “Studying Engineering has been a life-changing opportunity for me. The University of Manchester taught me not only solid theoretical knowledge but most importantly a very well-defined analytical mindset, which has opened my mind and widened the spread of career opportunities available to me. I am honoured to have been selected for the IET Prize and will certainly try to bring what I learnt at The University of Manchester everywhere I’ll go.”
