Approach to flexible working updated
The University has recently updated its flexible working policy in response to feedback from staff.
Gemma Dale, Policy Manager in the Directorate of Human Resources, said: “We recognise the benefits of flexible working to staff, and that working flexibly can be a driver of employee engagement and retention of talent, as well as helping staff to balance the demands of work and personal life.
“This was raised by staff in the Professional Support Services earlier this year when they were asked what the University can do to make them feel more valued following Staff Survey 2017.”

The University supports flexible working where it is appropriate to the role and department. Staff can apply for flexible working for any reason, and it is not limited to those with family care commitments.
