Extension of the appointment of the President and Vice-Chancellor

At its most recent meeting held on 23 May 2018, the Board of Governors approved the extension of the appointment of the President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nancy Rothwell, for a period of two years effective from 1 July 2020.

Nancy was originally appointed President and Vice-Chancellor by the Board of Governors on 1 July 2010 for an initial period of seven years, on a renewable fixed term contract. This was extended for six years from 1 July 2014.

Mr Edward Astle, Chair of the Board of Governors, said: “Nancy is steering the University through a period of great change for the sector and the UK, while ensuring it continues to perform strongly and, indeed, make the most of those changes.  The Board is delighted to retain her strong leadership and considerable knowledge, skills and dynamism, which have served us well for the past eight years.”
