Opening our doors to the local community

On Saturday, 16 June the University will open up its doors to local residents and the general public for our second annual University-wide Community Festival.

Children and adults alike will get a chance to experience many of the exciting things that go on at our University. 

Visitors will be able to see where research to tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges is carried out and speak to our world-class researchers.

There will be plenty of hands on activities; from live experiments, interactive demonstrations, heritage tours and workshops. The activities will showcase a plethora of work from across each of our three Faculties and our cultural institutions and give visitors the chance to get hands-on with our many areas of research.

There will be plenty of fun activities for children including, craft activities, free face painting, a climbing wall and a helter skelter ride.

The Festival takes place from 11am – 4pm on Saturday, 16 June in University Place, Manchester Museum and in Williamson Square.

Everyone is welcome to this free event and there is no need to book.
