University professor receives Honorary Doctorate

University of Lausanne honours Manchester Professor Emeritus
On Friday 1 June 2018, George J. Brooke, Rylands Professor of Biblical Criticism and Exegesis Emeritus at the University of Manchester received an Honorary Doctorate in Sciences des Religions from the University of Lausanne in a ceremony at Lausanne for the University's 2018 Dies Academicus.
Prof. Brooke also gave the speech of thanks on behalf of all those receiving Honorary Doctorates.
Prof. Brooke has been at the forefront of 25 years of collaboration between Manchester's Centre for Biblical Studies and the Institut Romand des Sciences Bibliques at Lausanne. The honorary doctorate also recognised his international role as a scholar of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
