Book retailer honoured at British Book Awards and by The Booksellers Association
Blackwell’s has been named the nation’s leading bookseller at the British Book Awards.
The national chain of academic book stores and online sales was also named as the Academic chain book retailer of the year by The Booksellers Association.
The University of Manchester store is currently in a temporary location, next to the Arthur Lewis Building. This summer, they will move to their brand new 6000sq ft bookshop, situated in the new University Green retail and leisure development.
Manager Paul Thornton said: “It’s fantastic to see Blackwell’s pick up these industry awards this week, recognising the skills and ability of our staff in bookshops across the UK. Here in Manchester, we’re looking forward to ending our two-year stint in a temporary home, and moving to our brand new campus bookshop. Design and layout plans are looking great- we think it’s going to be something special.”
