University reader to deliver poem at Manchester City Council commemoration

Dr Kevin Malone, Reader in Composition from the Art History, Drama and Music department has been invited to be one of the readers at the Manchester City Council civic memorial service at the city's Cathedral on Tuesday, 22 May from 2pm-3pm for an invited congregation to remember the 22 people killed in the Manchester Arena attack last year.  

Kevin is Vice-Chair of Greater Manchester Humanists and regularly visits schools to speak about critical thinking, ethics and humanism at civic days and RE classes.  His original compositions also reflect these areas of social responsibility and education.
