Jan Wilkinson to retire from the University

Jan Wilkinson, University Librarian and Director of the John Rylands Library, will retire in August 2018

Jan Wilkinson, University Librarian and Director of the John Rylands Library, will retire from the University on 31 August 2018 after more than ten years in post.

During her time in post, Jan has overseen a number of changes in the Library and the establishment of the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons.

Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Luke Georghiou, said “Jan has been at the very forefront of her profession. Her leadership of the Library has been marked by innovation and agility at a time of rapid change in the world of information and by consistent high satisfaction from its users, leaving a strong legacy for others to follow.  We all wish her well.”
