Independent Visiting is a fantastic and unique provision which enables people to play a positive role in the life of a child or young person in care with a relatively small and very flexible time commitment.

You will be important to the child who you visit and befriend and will provide a listening ear and do fun activities with them on a monthly basis approximately.

You will receive full training, support for yourself and be put in touch with other Independent Visitors. You will also receive expenses.

The biggest reward, however, is knowing that you are giving a child or young person the chance to develop a meaningful and long-lasting relationship and meet their full potential.

We are particularly interested to hear from males and people from black minority ethnic groups who are under-represented in our service.

If you are interested or want to know more, please get in touch with Louise, the Independent Visitor Coordinator, at louise.little@coramvoice.org.uk or 0161 226 0116.

You can also find out more about the role and apply through the Coram Voice website

Coram Voice will be holding an information session on campus where you can come along and find out more about this rewarding voluntary role:

  • Tuesday 20 February, 5.30pm – 6.15pm

To book on to the information session, please complete the short online survey.
