Sinead Hesp appointed Director of Legal Affairs and Board Secretariat

In December 2017 it was announced that Chris Petty, General Counsel, would be retiring from the University on Friday 30 March 2018.  

The University has just announced that Sinead Hesp has been appointed to this role as Director of Legal Affairs and Board Secretariat.    

Sinead and Chris will be working together over the coming months to ensure a smooth transfer of accountabilities with effect from Monday 2 April 2018.

Sinead is well known within the University community having worked here since 2010, focussing on employment matters and also with a wider involvement including governance matters.  

She acted as Deputy Secretary to the Board of Governors on an interim basis.  Prior to joining the University, Sinead had over 10 years of experience working with Mills and Reeve, LLP.  Externally, she has been a Governor of Stamford Park Junior School in Hale since 2012 including a period as Chair from 2015 to 2017.
