Pop up event to raise awareness of cervical cancer

23 Jan 2018

Workshops, information and cakes mark National Cervical Cancer Prevention Week at Manchester Science Park

Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Zilico are teaming up during National Cervical Cancer Prevention Week to have a pop up event at the Bright Building, Manchester Science Park (MSP), tomorrow (Wednesday 24 January).

The event aims to educate women and men on the importance of cervical screening and raise awareness of the symptoms of possible disease.

Jo’s Trust, the only charity dedicated to raising awareness and supporting people affected by cervical cancer, will hold workshops throughout the day to educate and dispel any myths around screening and cervical cancer.

The Zilico team, who are developing the next generation of diagnostic devices and are based at MSP, will be in the café area offering information about cervical screening and talking about ZedScan, their device used to detect early changes in the cells of the cervix.

Jo’s Trust will also be raising money with a bake sale and donations can be made on the day. A Jo’s Trust representative will be holding 20 minute workshops throughout the day. These are informative, fun and interactive so book a place to attend!
