Annual networking event for technical staff
29 Nov 2017
The annual Technical Excellence at Manchester (TEaM) event is now open for registration
It will be held on Tuesday, 12 December in The Great Hall, Sackville Building
This is a networking event that will bring together technical staff from all areas. An opportunity to acknowledge achievements and celebrate the vital contribution of technical staff to teaching and research within our University and beyond.
This year we have two keynote speakers:
- Dr Emily Grossman whose presentation is entitled “Too sensitive for STEM?”. Dr Grossman is an internationally acclaimed science author, public speaker and TV personality. A figure in the movement to promote gender equality and diversity and to inspire the next generation of pioneering scientists.
- Dr Elaine Bignell who is the Deputy Director of the Manchester Fungal Infection Group (MFIG). Her presentation is entitled “Breaking the mould: A Technician-centric model for discovery science in a large research group”.
There will also be summary feedback from the recent TEaM feedback workshops, and an opportunity to meet the members of the steering group to discuss ideas and provide additional feedback which will help shape the future of this exciting initiative.
TEaM is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a forum created by technical staff for technical staff.
