Sweet way to raise funds for Lemn Sissay Foundation
29 Nov 2017
Fundraising bake sale in the Rutherford Building this Friday (1 December)
A Christmas bake sale to raise money for the Lemn Sissay Foundation will be held in the Rutherford Room (Rutherford Building) on Friday, 1 December from 12.30–1.30pm.
The Foundation organises Christmas dinners for care leavers in locations across the UK, including fifty young adults here in Manchester. Care leavers are young people who have spent time living apart from their families in foster homes or residential care. They might be vulnerable young adults who are spending Christmas alone in a bedsit or a hostel.
So come along and join us for some festive treats to help raise money for this wonderful cause.
If you would like to contribute any delicious baked goodies for the event email:
- Emma Lewis-Kalubowila at elk@manchester.ac.uk
