Casualty! A Twentieth Century History
02 Oct 2017
From under-sourced backwater space to high-tech environment with specialised staff and services
Thanks to TV shows like Casualty, the British public has an intimate understanding of our hospitals and how they’ve changed over the last 100 years.
This talk by Dr Graham Mooney explores how and why the casualty department was transformed over the course of the 20th century, from being an under-sourced backwater space to a high-tech environment with specialised staff and services.
The event will be hosted by The John Rylands Library on Thursday, 26 October, 6-7.30pm.
