Clear out or update your wardrobe with the Rutherford SWISH!

Put these dates in your diaries for the popular clothes swap events

We’ve decided to announce all dates in advance – along with the clothing and household themes – and remember anything which isn’t SWISH-ed gets shared with our local charities.

We have to date raised over £700 from these events, and donated over 80 bags of clothing to local charities – so we’re really pleased to have your continued support; and to reduce, reuse and recycle clothing amongst colleagues and charities. 

Please note – although we’d added themes – these are loose, and you can just bring any good-quality items of clothing as usual. 

• Autumn: 11 October, Clothing Theme: Summer clear out, Any previous summer wear to share, Household Theme: Towels
• Winter: 29 November, Clothing Theme: Winter Warmers, Any old coats, hats, scarves, gloves, Household Theme: Winter Warmers: coats, blankets, sleeping bags
• Spring: 28 March, Clothing Theme: Spring clear out, Any clothes to share between two charities, Household Theme: Kitchenware
• Summer: 25 July, Clothing Theme: School uniform: to go to Wood Street Mission, Household Theme: Bedding 

All events will take place 12:30 – 1:30pm in the Rutherford Room, Rutherford Building. 

For all of you who are updating your wardrobe or clearing out your Autumn/Winter threads - don’t throw them away; “swish” them for other pre-loved items!

Admission: £2 if you bring items, £3 if you do not, proceeds to Cornerstone Day Centre and the Wood Street Mission. 

How does it work?

You bring along any good quality items of clothing which you no longer wear/use (handbags, shoes, tops and dresses etc), you pay a donation which goes to a good cause, and you can help yourself to any items which colleagues have brought in which take your fancy! Any leftover items of clothing will be donated to the charities, and will be put to good use.
