Research Data Storage maintenance
04 Sep 2017
We’re performing upgrades and maintenance on the central Research Data Storage (RDS) system, which is sometimes known as Isilon
Maintenance will take place this week, between 6am and 9am on:
- Wednesday, 6 September
- Thursday, 7 September
- Friday, 8 September
Data stored on the RDS is not at risk during this maintenance. However, connections to the storage system may be affected in the following ways:
Login sessions and jobs running on the central High Performance Computing platforms (eg CSF) may pause, but will resume once the maintenance has taken place. If you are using these platforms, you may wish to check on your jobs after the maintenance period, but no further action should be required.
PCs such as desktop or lab equipment computers that map additional network drives (these often contain “\nasr.man.ac.uk”) may need to remap the drive. Find out more:
Please note that this does not affect P Drives or Shared Areas.
