Tackling hate crime and online harassment on campus
04 Jul 2017
HEFCE are inviting applications to their Catalyst Fund for new small scale projects on student safeguarding, to receive funding of up to £50,000
If you are considering an application, please contact the Director of Planning, Matt Aitken, by Monday, 10 July so that bids can be coordinated.
As the application form requires approval from both Director of Finance and Head of Institution, any proposals should be sent to the Director of Planning by Monday, 24 July at:
HEFCE deadline for bids is noon Monday, 31 July 2017.
Note that this funding builds on the previous call, 'Catalyst fund: Student safeguarding on campus' (HEFCE Circular letter 36/2016), which addressed issues of sexual harassment and violence on campus.
Applications for the previous call were strong in the area of sexual harassment, but HEFCE report there were gaps in terms of proposals to tackle hate crime as well as online harassment against students targeted because of their race or ethnicity, religion or belief, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity.
