Researchers: Join us for this month's Research IT club
03 May 2017
The next Research IT Club will be held on the Wednesday 10 May, featuring a welcome from the new Head of Research IT, Angus Hearmon, plus updates from our research infrastructure and software engineering teams.
To attend the event please register so we know how much coffee to order in!
The presentations for this month’s event, as well as the usual updates, are:
John Bowes
Division of Musculoskeletal & Dermatological Sciences, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health
John will illustrate how components of the Research IT ecosystem for computationally-intensive research (CIR), such as the (interactive) Computational Shared Facilities (iCSF, CSF) and Research Data Storage (RDS) service, have been integrated into the routine working practices within the Centre for Musculoskeletal Research.
Mike Elliot
Cyber Security Programme Solutions Architect, IT Services
The presentation will focus on the introduction of two factor authentication and use of network security zones here at the University and how researchers can make use of this to increase their research data security
This is a great opportunity for researchers to ask questions on how two factor authentication will work in research scenarios!

The event will take place in Room G107, Alan Turing Building from 3 to 5pm on Wednesday 10 May.
Don’t forget, that if you have a query about including Research IT skills and expertise in grant proposals you can come along to our Grant Support Clinics which are held every 6 weeks:
