Electric vehicle charging is changing in Manchester
07 Apr 2017
Charge Your Car (CYC) will be adjusting their pricing in response to growing usage and resource demand
The Greater Manchester Electric Vehicle (GMEV) network of charge points is operated by CYC who manage payments and access on behalf of Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM).
From midnight on 1 May 2017, Charge Your Car will apply a £1 connection fee to successful charges on all public charge points in the GMEV network. This fee is payable by the driver who will be invoiced monthly via their customer account.
The University of Manchester plays host to 12 electric vehicle charge points that are part of the GMEV network; 8 in the Booth Street West car park and 4 in the Cecil Street car park.
Users are advised to check that they have an up-to-date payment card on their account before 1 May 2017 otherwise access cards may be blocked and charging denied.
