Read Policy@Manchester's collection of recommendations for the new mayor

Today, Policy@Manchester releases an online mayoral policy briefing ahead of Greater Manchester electing its first metro mayor on 4 May. 

We’ve drawn on the expertise of our academics  and external partners to develop some key recommendations and challenges for whoever is elected next month. 

The briefing focuses on 5 themes which we identified as the key policy areas for the election, based on the candidates’ manifestos and the Manchester Evening News’ survey of over 10,000 residents in Greater Manchester; health and social care, housing, jobs, inclusivity and transport.

We are also sending all of the candidates a copy of this briefing, inviting them to submit their responses to the points raised and their commitments on the issues, which we will collate and publish before the election.
