Today is your last chance to sign up for discounted places in the University’s Purple Wave in the Great Manchester 10k Run (Tuesday, 4 April).
You can join colleagues like Michelle Bebbington whose life has changed dramatically since she first joined the wave last year.
Michelle, Head of Payroll and Shared Services at HR, walked the course in two hours last year.
“I thought never again,” she recalls. “I want to do it next year but I want to run the whole course.”
She lost weight thanks to a running plan that took her from couch to 5k…to ten 10k runs in a year!
And she’s looking forward to the “buzz” of the start line, the support of her fellow Purple Wavers and an amazing post-race event that includes well-earned massages and activities for the kids.
You can join the Purple Wave on Sunday, 28 May for the discounted price of £25 for staff, £20 for students, for the first 3,000 to sign up. You will get a FREE purple technical running T-shirt too! The standard entry fee is £38 so this is a significant discount.
A discounted price of £30 is also available to the first 200 alumni to sign up to run and raise money for scholarships, student support or research at the University.
There's lots of training support for everyone taking part, including running plans for you to follow and a number of running groups across campus for all levels of fitness.
