Encourage our students to have their say

01 Mar 2017

Survey of postgraduate taught students launches on Monday (6 March)

Next week sees the launch of the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) which gives our masters students a chance to tell us about their experiences.

As well as asking about overall satisfaction, the survey asks students about aspects of their course including teaching and learning, resources and skills development. Students are also given the opportunity to give positive and/or negative comments on their student experience as a whole, which are extremely valuable.

The University is committed to understanding and improving the experience of our Master’s students. However, the shorter duration of courses, and the fact that we have more distance and part time students taking masters level courses means that it is even more important that we use every opportunity to work with students to make the right enhancements to their experience. This is why the University really values the PTES.  Listening to and acting on feedback from students is still one of the best ways to make sure that our efforts to improve the student experience are focused in the right way – and  the PTES results give a unique and holistic view of this diverse group and their experiences.

Students will receive a link to their survey via email and will also find it in My Manchester. Please encourage eligible students to complete the survey before Friday, 12 May.

We know that students often respond better to messages from people they know – so if you tutor, lecture or support students then your help really is important to increase response rates.
