International Women's Day - FREE lunchtime concert

On Wednesday 8 March, 1.10pm, at the Martin Harris Centre
The Martin Harris Centre will be hosting a lunchtime concert on Wednesday 8 March - International Women's Day - in celebration of all aspects of female music making: composing, performing and conducting.
Musica presents a concert of works by female composers, including the premières of newly composed student works, performed by Manchester music students.
After the concert there will be the opportunity to make voluntary donations to Manchester Rape Crisis.
FREE - no need to book - just turn up!

The Manchester University Music Society will be hosting pop-up events in the Martin Harris Centre foyer at 12pm every day between 6-10 March to coincide with International Women's Day. These short performances will take place on the first floor balcony and everyone is welcome to join them. The programme is as follows:
Monday 6 March, 12pm- “a minute of news”: solo snare drum
Tuesday 7 March, 12pm - violin and viola: Second movement of Mozart K423
Wednesday 8 March, 12pm - voice and fiddle: Traditional Irish folk
Thursday 9 March, 12pm - vocal trio: can't take my eyes off of you
Friday 10 March, 12pm - vocal duet
