Researchers invited to special briefing to discover more
University researchers are being invited to attend a special briefing to find out how they can become involved in the international 2017 Future Energy expo – and benefit from the University’s special status.
The University will have access to exciting showcase opportunities at this prestigious event which will be hosted in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, from Saturday, 10 June until Sunday, 10 September.
The special Manchester briefing will be held on Tuesday, 14 February, from noon to 1.30pm, in Room D45a Sackville Street Building, North Campus.
A senior representative from the Department for International Trade will be attending to give the latest update on ambitious plans for the UK Pavilion which is set to be one the most eye-catching the British government has ever supported.
“The expo’s Future Energy theme and proposed design for the UK Pavilion perfectly matches our own research beacons and academic strengths,” said Professor Steve Flint, Associate Vice-President for Internationalisation at Manchester.
“With sponsorship status we will join prestigious organisations such as Shell, Agrreko, Vitol, the Scottish Government, London Stock Exchange and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, as high profile supporters of the UK Pavilion.
“The purpose of the Manchester briefing on February 14 is to provide further background to the expo and outline the scope for colleagues to become involved.
“The UK Pavilion seeks to show an estimated two million visitors that Britain fosters a culture of creative energy, innovation and global collaboration to address critical challenges facing the world’s communities.”
