Could you be a reliable friend to a young person in care?

Coram Voice are recruiting Independent Visitors to help young people in care meet their full potential

Independent Visitors (IVs) are informal mentors who can make a difference to a young person in care through shared interests.  Providing a reliable, consistent listening ear will enable them to build their confidence and increase their life chances.  

You will receive full training, support for yourself and be put in touch with other Independent Visitors for peer support and advice. You will also receive expenses. The biggest reward, though, is that knowing you are doing something worthwhile with a young person and giving them the opportunity to develop a meaningful relationship. They are particularly interested to hear from males and people from black minority ethnic groups who are under-represented. 

The Coram group of charities develops, delivers and promotes best practice in the support of children and young people.  Their vision is that every child has the best possible chance in life and they have been helping vulnerable children for 275 years. 

Coram are running two information sessions at the University, where you can come along and find out more:

· 27 February 5:30 – 6:30pm

· 8th March 1:30 – 2:30pm
