#GivingTuesday is coming
21 Nov 2016
Next week, the University will be taking part for the third year running in #GivingTuesday - the day to do ‘good stuff’ for charity
Established in the US in 2012, #GivingTuesday provides a charitable alternative to the start of the Christmas shopping season - a time for us to begin the festive season with a day of giving and making a commitment to charity.
On this year's #GivingTuesday (29 November), the University will be using a range of social media platforms to celebrate and encourage acts of kindness – from volunteering and one-off donations to making a commitment to a good cause in the name of making a difference.
On each of the days leading up to #GIvingTuesday, there'll be a new article about one of the ways in which the University is engaging with #GivingTuesday. Topics will include: Give As You Earn, Volunteering/Get involved at the University, FSE Fair and First AID CPR training, and What your support means to the University. On 28 and 28 November, there'll be a round-up of all #GivingTuesday activity around campus.
Celebrate your giving
In the meantime, we'd love to hear about what you are already doing - please share your giving experiences with your colleagues at:
