One of six simple actions you can incorporate into your daily life to help you feel good and function well
Improving your wellbeing can not only help you to feel better, it can also help you to function better. You'll feel the benefits in your physical health, performance at work and quality of life.
The University has identified the Manchester Ways to Wellbeing, based on detailed research and the recommendations of the New Economic Foundation. These are six actions that you can build into your day-to-day life in order to feel good and function well.
Here, we introduce the first of the Ways to Wellbeing - Be Active - and explain how you can adopt it for yourself or choose an appropriate wellbeing activity to help you.Be active
Be Active
Go for a walk or run. Step outside. Cycle. Try a new sport or activity. Dance, play a game or dig the garden. Most importantly, discover an activity you enjoy and one that suits you. Being active makes you feel good.
Here are some ideas to help you Be Active on campus during Wellbeing Week:

- Men's Yoga - Friday, 18 November (1-2pm), H11, Sackville Street Building
Bhangra
- Thursday, 17 November (3-3.45pm), Wellbeing Rooms, Simon Building
Swim
- Sunday, 20 November (3.30-4.30pm), Manchester Aquatics Centre
