Two minutes of silent remembrance
11 Nov 2016
University music students played The Last Post to introduce the traditional two-minute silence to mark Armistice Day
Just before 11 am on Friday, 11 November, large numbers of staff gathered in the Old Quad in front of the University's memorials to staff and students who died during World Wars 1 and 2.
Each year, this spontaneous act of remembrance gives us the opportunity to reflect and to honour the memory of members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
