Help Wood Street Mission give the gift of a happy Christmas to families in need
07 Oct 2016
Please donate new toys and other gifts, books, food or money to their Christmas Project 2016
Please make your donations by Wednesday, 7 December 2016 so that they can be packed in time for collection by the Mission van on Friday, 9 December 2016.
Wood Street Mission has been planning the 2016 Christmas Project for several months now. They want to ensure that no child goes without a new toy on Christmas Day and your generousity is vital to achieving this aim.
You can donate any of the following to the Christmas Project:
- Brand new toys and gifts for children up to the age of 18 This year Wood Street Mission are hoping to receive gifts for the older children as well.
- New or good second hand children’s books
NOTE: Please do not wrap any presents. You can, if you wish, donate sheets or rolls of wrapping paper for them to give to the families to wrap the gifts themselves. - Non-perishable food items:
Tins of vegetables, meat, fish, or fruit
Tins or packets of soup
Packets of pasta or rice
Puddings or desserts
Biscuits, crackers or savoury snacks
Boxes of cereals
Tea, coffee or other hot beverages
Tins or jars of savoury sauces, jams and pickles
Chocolate treats
(NOTE: All food items must have an expiry date clearly printed on their packet and must be in date up to 31 December 2016 at least - for this reason, Wood Street cannot accept homemade Christmas cakes. Please do not split multiple packs as dates are not marked on individual items - Wood Street volunteers will split them when making up the hampers.)
