Strollers step out in support of Maggie's Cancer Centres
30 Sep 2016
Following their Memory Walk for Alzheimer's Society earlier this month, the University’s Walking for Health group, Lunchtime Strollers, is stepping out again for cancer support charity, Maggie's
The walk on 16 September was a great success, as many who took part had been affected by dementia and were able to share their experiences with others at the event. The added bonus was that the walk also raised £200 for the Alzheimer’s Society! One of the participants on the day was Carly Mosely, who oversees the Dementia Friends initiatives, one of the University's Social Responsibility flagship programmes.
Now seven of the Lunchtime Strollers are trying to raise money again, but this time for Maggie’s Cancer Centres, by taking part in a 10k evening walk from The Christie to Manchester City Centre on Friday, 30 September.
