Exiting Car Park D: a brief detour could reduce delay to your journey
09 Sep 2016
As staff and students return after the summer break, users of Car Park D, next to the Dental Hospital, may experience longer delays than usual when exiting onto Higher Cambridge Street, particularly when turning right out of the car park
Delays may also be compounded by the works on Oxford Road.
Discussions are taking place with Manchester City Council Highways Department to ease the situation, but in the meantime drivers are advised that that they can make a short diversion by turning left onto Higher Cambridge Street, then right onto Burlington Street and right again onto Boundary Lane and resume their journey from there. This will help reduce queues backing up from the Higher Cambridge Street exit.
Director of Estates and Facilities, Diana Hampson, said: ”We are aware of some delays at busier times of day on the new access road for Car Park D, and we are working hard to reach a solution as soon as possible with the City Council to improve the flow of traffic. In the meantime, we would ask Car Park D users to bear with us and, if possible, make a brief detour to reduce the delay to their journey.”
