Inaugural Lord Morris of Manchester Memorial Lecture
24 Oct 2016
On Thursday 3 November, 6.30pm, at the Martin Harris Centre
Alf Morris (1928-2012) dedicated his parliamentary career – as the Labour Co-op MP for Wythenshawe 1964-1997 and then as a Life Peer – to challenging the barriers imposed by society on disabled people.
This celebration of Alf’s career and the difference his landmark legislation made will feature a choral performance by The University of Manchester’s Chamber Choir, Ad Solem, followed by the inaugural lecture by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.
There will be a Q&A session with a panel of distinguished disabled guests.
Lemn Sissay, the University’s Chancellor, will offer some reflection to close the event.
Please note booking is essential.
