Editorial and Engagement Manager shortlisted for Impact Champion award
A member of Professional Support Staff has been named runner-up in the Economic and Social Research Council's prestigious Impact Champion prize.
Alex Waddington, from policy@manchester, received his award at a ceremony London from ESRC Chair Alan Gillespie, after being shortlisted in the Celebrating Impact Prize 2016.
The awards recognise interdisciplinary, collaborative working, partnerships, engagement and knowledge exchange activities that have led to significant impact.
Alex was the only non-academic to appear on the entire Awards shortlist.
He was shortlisted for his success in encouraging and championing policy engagement work among researchers, and was nominated by Professor Francesca Gains, Head of Politics.
Alex said: "While a little disappointed to have missed the top prize, I am honoured to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award.
“I am incredibly lucky to work at a university where outstanding, real-world relevant research can be found in every corner of campus. I am looking forward to building on this success and continuing to help academics achieve greater impact for their work."
