Sociology PhD student, Kirsty Morrin, was interviewed on BBC 4’s Thinking Allowed on analysing policy and practice in school academisation.
Kirsty contributed to a special programme on Pierre Bourdieu, in which Laurie Taylor explored the ideas and legacy of the French sociologist, best known for establishing the concepts of cultural, social, and symbolic forms of capital (as opposed to traditional economic forms of capital).
In addition to Kirsty, who is co-convenor for the Bourdieu Study Group, Laurie was also joined by Diane Reay, Professor of Education at Cambridge University and Derron Wallace, Post Doctoral Fellow at Brandeis University.
