Volunteer for Behind the Scenes of Manchester Science
23 Jun 2016
As part of the University’s response to EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF), our doors will open to the public
'Behind the Scenes of Manchester Science’ will provide us with a fantastic opportunity to open up our doors to those who may not otherwise get to see what goes on behind the scenes at Manchester.
The Faculties of Humanities, Medical and Human Sciences and Life Sciences will open up their labs on 27 July from 10am to 4pm with activities based around Oxford Road. Manchester Museum is acting as the hub for all activity on the day and will host the registration desks and meeting points for the tours as well as table top activities taking place throughout the museum itself.
We need 25 staff volunteers to take part in the event to provide a friendly, positive and knowledgeable welcome to all participants. Specific roles on the day will vary but in general will consist of acting as a walking guide to take attendees between labs and buildings and providing general information to participants around the schedule, programme, locations, directions, facilities, etc.

This provides a great chance to be part of an ESOF fringe event and the University’s official response to the European City of Science, so if you can spare some time between 9am and 5pm on Wednesday, 27 July, please contact:
You do not need to be available all day - specific time slots can be agreed and a full briefing will be provided.
