TfGM bus priority work on Oxford Road

Traffic management update for week commencing 4 April
Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM) have sent us a schedule of work taking place on Oxford Road between Monday, 4 April through to the end of May.
During this period, we'll publish an weekly update each Friday to inform you of the traffic management arrangements in place for the next seven days to help you plan your journey to and from work.
As with any major engineering project, there may be changes to the schedule as the result of unforeseen circumstances and TfGM will of course update us if any changes do take place.
The following are the traffic management arrangements in place for the week commencing Monday, 4 April 2016:
Wilmslow Road (Rusholme Place to Hathersage Road)
- Northbound, first running lane on Wilmslow Road closed from 20m north of the junction with dMoss Lane East to Hathersage Road;
- Bus stop outside Whitworth Park temporary closed as it falls within the lane closure.
Moss Lane East
- No left turn onto Wilmslow Road from Moss Lane East.
Wilmslow Road/Hathersage Road/Oxford Road junction:
- Hathersage Road westbound: first running lane closed on approach to Oxford Road;
- Oxford Road/Wilmslow Road/Hathersage Road junction, Northern and Southern arms of the junction, alternate pedestrian crossing closed over weekends to construct new islands - undertaken on 3-way lights. Approximately 20m diversion to the nearest alternate crossing.
- Oxford Road/Wilmslow Road/Hathersage Road junction: Hathersage Road arm of the junction - carriageway ducting to be undertaken on 3-way traffic lights.
Oxford Road (Hathersage Road to Denmark Road)
- Southbound bus lane to be suspended during the works.
- Northbound and Southbound, single lane running maintained for duration of the works.
- Whitworth Park, pedestrian crossing is being upgraded and is currently not in use. Approximately 50m diversion to the nearest alternate pedestrian crossing.
Oxford Road (Denmark Road to Grafton Street)
- Off-carriageway cycle lane closed until final scheme implementation.
- Localised pedestrian management in place.
- Controlled pedestrian crossing outside Thorncliffe House temporarily closed for statutory undertakers works. Approximately 50m diversion to the nearest alternate pedestrian crossing.
Oxford Road (Kilburn Building frontage)
- Southbound, first running lane closed outside Kilburn Building.
Oxford St (Whitworth St to Portland St)
- Northbound, third running lane on Oxford Street closed indefinitely to prevent vehicle grounding on newly constructed central island.
