Our Chancellor Lemn Sissay is to give the closing speech at FutureEverything 2016 – part of the European City of Science Manchester 2016 programme.
FutureEverything takes on the big questions facing society through the lens of art and digital culture.
Working to the theme of ‘Less and More’, this year’s FutureEverything (Wednesday, 30 March – Saturday, 2 April) explores how we can rethink resources within a world that is changing exponentially.
As well as Lemn Sissay, this year’s conference features over 30 leading international names such as Turner Prize winning architecture collective Assemble, designer and director Nelly Ben Hayoun, artist Addie Wagenknecht, counter-terrorism expert Charlie Winter, Tech Advisor for Manchester Growth Company Claire Braithwaite and award winning bot-artist Darius Kazemi.
The main conference takes place at Manchester Town Hall with additional events taking place at venues around the city, including the Whitworth Art Gallery.
