Roz's running the London Marathon for RNIB
15 Mar 2016
Roz Webster from Student Recruitment and Widening Participation is running the London Marathon next month and raising funds for RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People)
Roz's mum died of a brain tumour in 1994. After she was diagnosed, she lost her sight and received support from RNIB to help her through this process. Roz would therefore like to help generate much needed funds for the charity and is doing so by running her first ever marathon on 24 April.
You can find out more about the RNIB and their work at:
Roz has been raising funds with her colleague Chris Farrington by hosting pub quizzes and bake sales for the last few months. Now that the marathon is getting closer and Roz's fundraising target is in reach, Chris and Roz are organizing a raffle prize draw.
If you buy a ticket, you could be in with a chance of winning one of the following prizes:
- a tour of a Premiership football club stadium;
- a signed football;
- tickets for a variety of football matches;
- plus some other non-football themed prizes.
Tickets are £2 each and can be bought:
- by contacting Chris at christopher.farrington@manchester.ac.uk or Roz at roz.webster@manchester.ac.uk
or - by donating money and leaving your name and contact details online at JustGiving: Roz Webster
The draw will take place on Thursday, 24 March.
