Revised policy clarifies the criteria for awarding Honorary posts and now applies across all faculties
The Honorary Appointments policy and procedure has been reviewed and now applies across all faculties of the University.
The revised policy clarifies the criteria for awarding Honorary posts, which allow distinguished individuals from other institutions and organisations to collaborate with staff at The University of Manchester.
These are always unpaid appointments, and the term ‘honorary’ must not be used for any other arrangements other than as defined within this policy.
The policy contains updated forms and letters to be used by Schools.

In addition, a new form is provided to enable other non-employees who do not meet the criteria for Honorary appointments, such as Visiting Academics, Visiting Scientists, Casual staff, Agency Workers and individuals on work experience, to be given access to IT systems and University Buildings.
