Research staff from the School of Nursing Midwifery and Social Work celebrated International Women’s Day with an indoor sky dive – and raised money for a charity that helps women across the world in the process.

Kate Woodward-Nutt, Sarah Plant, Sarah Tyson and Janelle Yorke from the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work joined 80 other women from all around the UK for the dive, at Airkix in Manchester.

Each one was able to complete two one-minute flights inside the air tunnel and between them they raised £200 for Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW), which offers support, friendship and practical help to women and communities around the world.

Sarah Plant said: “It was a great feeling and an adrenaline rush. It was lovely to see such a wide age range of women all giving it a go. And we helped a charity that aims to improve the quality of life for women and communities worldwide.”
