Martin Harris Centre is now a local member of the Manchester Dementia Action Alliance.
Dementia is one of the greatest challenges facing our ageing society. There has been major progress in recent years in securing public and political commitment to responding more effectively to dementia. The Dementia Action Alliance brings together organisations across England committed to transforming the lives of people with dementia and their carers.
The Martin Harris Centre is committed to becoming a dementia friendly arts venue and over the coming months will be looking at our environment for ways to help patrons with dementia and their carers. This will include running Dementia Friends training sessions for all staff and students, especially those in public-facing roles, and creating a more dementia-accessible programme of events.
