Development programme for University staff with a disability
‘Achieving Your Potential’ is a development programme for members of University staff, at all levels, with a disability.
The aim is to enable disabled colleagues to take more control over their personal and professional lives; to develop resilience to thrive at work; to set and achieve personal goals; and develop as positive role models for others
During the programme participants will:
Value and share their own experience and explore their identity
Develop self-esteem, self-confidence, enhanced personal styles and ability to relate to others
Set personal goals and gain benefit from one to one coaching
Develop assertive communication, active listening and project themselves
Work effectively with others: using negotiation methods and handling expectations
The programme consists of three one-day workshops accompanied by two one-to-one development coaching sessions for each participant and a final round-up day in September.
