Contact, Manchester has been working with architects, Sheppard Robson, to plan a major refurbishment of the venue. The renovation will provide more opportunities and activities for young people and the local community, enabling Contact to continue its valued artistic and creative programming, and create a livelier welcoming space for everyone.
The planning process is raising a number of questions about theatre spaces in the 21st Century. You are invited to join this discussion in a special public event before Reckless Sleepers’ architectural performance piece Negative Space.
The panel discussion will explore the complex relationship between architecture, design, space and performance and features University of Manchester academics Dr Kate Dorney and Dr Simon Parry, as well as Mole Wetherell (Reckless Sleepers), Matt Fenton (Contact), James Jones (Sheppard Robson), Emily Crompton (MMU) and Amy Hanley (MMU).
