Sackville Street temporary road closure

15 Feb 2016

There will be a temporary road closure in place on the North Campus from Friday, 4 March to Monday, 7 March during demolition of the Faraday Building and link bridge to make way for the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC)

The southern end of Sackville Street which runs under the link bridge will be closed and there will be no pedestrian or vehicle access through here from 7pm on Friday, 4 March to 7pm on Monday, 7 March. The exit slip road off the Mancunian Way to the University will be closed although access to the A34 (Princess Street) will remain open via this slip road.

The rest of Sackville Street will remain open, and vehicles and pedestrians can continue to access the campus from the city centre and Charles Street as usual.

Pedestrians are advised of alternative routes to Sackville Street via Charles Street and between the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) Building and the Manchester Conference Centre. Signage will be in place.

All North Campus buildings and entrances will remain accessible.
