Film showing: As Tears Go By
Thursday, 4 February (6.15pm) at HOME Manchester*
Film showing of ‘As Tears go By’ - Award winning director Wong Kar-wai’s debut, As Tears Go By is a classic gangster film about loyalty, ambition and respect.’ Email confucius@manchester.ac.uk for discounted tickets!
Creative workshops
Saturday, 6 February (12noon-6pm) at Arndale Centre
Join the Confucius Institute at the Arndale Centre and get involved with a range of creative workshops (Calligraphy and Origami) and use your newly learnt skills to make your own cards and badges.
Traditional Chinese music and dance
Saturday, 6 February (12noon-6pm) in St. Anns Square
The Confucius Institute Manchester also presents a special show of traditional music and dance. Head to the Live Music Stage on St. Ann’s Square to hear the SOAS Sizhu (Silk & Bamboo) Ensemble perform Chinese style music that is seen and heard in the famous tea-house of Shanghai. Also enjoy performances from artist that represent varying Chinese dance styles, reflecting their own culture and way of life. Please see our full programme for the live stage here
UK film premiere: Wild City
Monday, 8 February (6.10pm) at HOME Manchester*
